An attractive spring-flying species from southwestern Europe, it is one of several white butterflies with green underside markings in the region. The hindwing has a rather angular margin, compared to the Portuguese Dappled White (Euchloe tagis) which possess a rounded margin. The current species also tends to have greater white colouration on the underside hindwing. The pattern on the underside is also different to those of the Green-striped White (Euchloe belemia) and the Bath White (Pontia daplidice) and it can be helpful to compare images when attempting to identify them. This species also has a more delicate and somewhat slower flight compared to the Bath White.
