The adult of this species is very similar to the Pale Clouded Yellow however the larvae are quite different, hence why it was only recognised as a species in 1945. It is a nectar-loving species found in areas of calcareous soil, due to the presence of it larval foodplant, Horseshoe Vetch. In Portugal I saw a few individuals in a limestone valley feeding on Mediterranean Thyme.
